If you've seen horror drenched bizarro coming of age films The Reflecting Skin or The Butcher Boy and found the gothic chills those films provided to be to your liking, allow me to introduce you to Pin.
The film's official synopsis reads: "Isolated by his strange parents, Leon finds solace in an imaginary friend, which happens to be an anatomy doll from his father's doctor's office. Unfortunately, the doll begins to take over Leon's life, and his sister's life as well."
Somehow this film was a Sci-Fi Channel (pre-their regrettable decision of spelling it Syfy) staple during the '90s, and I found myself drawn to it even though it most definitely traumatized the shit out of me. For a great many years, perhaps due to its unavailability and the difficulty of tracking down a copy, I thought I'd dreamed Pin. Give it a look this week, and I think you'll understand why.
