Blood Streams - 200 Stab Wounds at Frightening Ass Film Fest 10
One of our favorite bands of 2020 play their second EVER live set at FAFF 10.
With less than a week till our tenth edition of the Frightening Ass Film Fest kicks off, I wanted to make sure I didn't miss an opportunity to spread the word about the incredible death metal band that's headlining our Virtual Edition FAFFter Party. If you're a death metal fan or you've been following this newsletter for a bit, the name 200 Stab Wounds is one that will be familiar to you.
Along with the skull-crushing tunes of the mighty Undeath, who graced our virtual stage at the Chattanooga Film Festivals virtual edition back in May, 200 Stab Wounds have quickly become one of my favorite bands out there. And with the recent passing of Power Trip's Riley Gale and Heavy Metal god-father Eddie Van Halen, the world of heavy metal can use all the authentic new voices it can get.
The band will be playing a FAFF exclusive live set that will feature two never before heard songs off their forthcoming debut full-length. The global pandemic has stopped live music as we know it in its tracks, but 200 Stab Wounds, who released Piles of Festering Decomposition their first EP back in April, still haven't had the opportunity to play so much as a single live show in real life. With touring not currently an option, we all need to start embracing new ways to love and support the musicians and artists who soundtrack our lives. It's for this reason and not just the immense amount of joy their music has brought me that I'm damn proud to have a chance to share a live 200 Stab Wounds set with all of you that take part in FAFF 10 this year.
The Frightening Ass Film Fest exists as a way for me to share my love of things like horror films and heavy metal with other like-minded folks, and quite a few of you have been with me on that journey for all ten years of its life. With that in mind, I can say without exaggeration that we've had no artist ever grace the "stage" of one of our FAFFter Parties that I'm more excited to share. To get your badge and check out not just the 200 Stab Wounds show but an entire Halloween Weekend filled with great horror movies and horror fueled live events, head over to FAFF.festivee.com now.
If for some reason you haven't checked out 200 Stab Wounds yet, here once again is their recent appearance at the virtual music festival Sonic Unrest. Bonus: at the top of this piece, you'll find their recently dropped cover of the stone-cold Carcass classic Ruptured in Purulence!
